We all know how important it is to monitor our blood sugar levels, especially if we are diabetic. But with all of the different products on the market, it can be hard to know which one is the best fit for us. That’s why we decided to take a closer look at one of the newer sugar monitors on the market, Glucotrust, to see how it stacks up against the competition.
- Glucotrust Reviews/Ratings by Consumer – Ease of Use: 4/5
The Glucotrust monitor is very simple to use. All you have to do is prick your finger and put a drop of blood on the test strip. The strip goes into the monitor, and in just a few seconds, you have your blood sugar reading. One downside, however, is that the lancet (the thing you use to prick your finger) is not included with the Glucotrust monitor, so you will have to buy that separately.
- Glucotrust Reviews/Ratings by Consumer – Accuracy: 4/5
Consumer Reports’ testing found that the Glucotrust monitor was accurate most of the time. There were a few readings that were off by as much as 20 points, but for the most part, it was within 10 points of the reading from a lab test.
- Glucotrust Reviews/Ratings by Consumer – Value: 3/5
The Glucotrust monitor itself is not too expensive, but when you factor in the cost of test strips and lancets, it can get a bit pricey. However, if you’re insured, your insurance may cover some or all of the costs.
If you’re looking for an easy-to-use blood sugar monitor that is accurate most of the time, then the Glucotrust may be a good option for you. It’s not cheap, but if your insurance covers part or all of the costs, it may be worth considering.
